Big Family, Big Smiles

It's always a pleasure when we are able to shoot families multiple times.  The fact that people enjoy our photos so much that they wish for us to shoot them AGAIN is humbling and exciting!
The Sherron family not only wanted us to shoot their family with their new addition of Berkley, but also their cousins! Children are always fun to photograph because you never know what you're going to get. We try to let the children direct US as much as possible because some of the best moments captured are when they are alive in their natural element. Forcing a kid to sit in a particular spot for a length of time isn't always going to produce the best.  Shooting eight children was a new adventure for us, but one that we were looking forward to.  There were a few times when we proposed they sit still for a quick photo op, and considering the circumstance, Lindsay and I were very impressed with their attentiveness and behavior. Of course, it also helped to have a mixture of 5 adults ready to "grab" a child should crying occur.   :)

So much can be said about cousins. You love them like a brother or sister, and sometimes you fight with them like a brother or sister. (Come on, you guys know what I'm talking about!)
This bunch, however, was full of love.

It's only natural to have a few tears along the way.  It was hot outside and there was a lot going on! Thanks to a little bribery off the set, everyone survived and looked forward to candy!

We laughed, we giggled.

We played.

We posed.

We hugged.

And kissed.

We lounged and looked adorable.

WE HAD FUN!

To the Sherron Family and to all the future families we hope to meet...thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your lives.

Hank & Kelley

Hank and Kelley. Finally!  I say "finally" with a grin across my face because it took us a few weeks to coordinate and reschedule after a few mishaps, including mother nature, and an incident with the ring. You can't do an engagement shoot without the ring, right? Right! (Don't worry Hank, I won't share with the blogging world...)  Importantly, we were able to finally meet and make it all happen!  The weather cooperated quite nicely despite the scorching heat.  At least they aren't getting married in August! Who on earth would do a thing like that in Florida?  Oh wait...me! (But that's an entirely different blog)

Hank and Kelley are the cute couple that you can't help but swoon over.  Hank looks adoringly at Kelley--she warmly giggles in return, and it's a picturesque moment every time.  Their love is so exposed and organic and...well, refreshing to see.  As it sometimes is for outdoor photography, the wind was a force that fought with us at times.  Us women do not like our hair in our faces, ESPECIALLY in photos.  I made a comment about possibly pinning back Kelley's hair and before the sentence left my lips Hank produced a Bobby Pin out of his shirt pocket for her.  Turns out, he keeps them in there for when she may need them.  It's honestly one of the sweetest gestures I think I've ever seen! What other man would do that???

There were lots of laughs that went around, Kelley managed to lose her flip-flop in the water (Hank to the rescue!), we had fun with Sharpies, and even the mayor stopped by for a quick "hello."  Unfortunately, we failed to pass along a business card to the mayor.  It's quite possible he may desire our skills at some point and we lost the moment! I guess we could use the excuse that we were too "engaged" in our adorable couple to have even thought about promoting ourselves, but I'd be lying. The thought crossed our minds a little too late.
(So if you happen to be reading this, Mr. Vandergrift, keep us in mind!)

A Fresh Start

Welcome to our new "Blog Spot!"  We ditched Tumblr after  a few complications.  The hope is that we'll now be able to update more with the problems now out of the way.  :)

Stay tuned!
